About Us

Our Story

Amanda and Lori met in 2018 when Amanda, then Director of Menu Services for a dietitian consulting firm, hired Lori as a Menu Specialist.  Amanda went on to work as a Clinical Project Supervisor for a menu software company while Lori stepped into Amanda’s previous role as Director of Menu Services.  Lori followed Amanda’s professional footsteps once again, becoming a Clinical Menu Specialist for the menu software company.  Amanda and Lori worked together closely which evolved into their professional chemistry and shared love of the detail oriented work that goes into creating quality recipes and menus.  Their shared experiences and desire to continue working together prompted them to create RecipeTree.

Years of assisting customers with menu support has revealed that everyone wants a custom menu which ultimately relies upon recipes:

  • regional recipes that reflect the traditions and claims to fame that mark location
  • cultural recipes that embody the familiar foods and favorite dishes of an individual’s country of origin and the cultural demographics of the population you serve
  • standardized recipes that, when followed, deliver the same outcome no matter who is cooking
  • scalable recipes that help control costs with production and cooking to census and need
  • safe recipes that include HACCP food safety standards as well as IDDSI guidelines for safe swallowing

Recipes live in many places and vary tremendously in quality.  Standardizing a recipe into a quality recipe takes time and expertise which are often luxuries in today’s climate of labor shortages and high turnover.  RecipeTree is a central independent location to store and access recipes that have been standardized for you making it easier for you to achieve a custom menu.

Our name, RecipeTree, is inspired by the shared qualities of our mission and the symbolism of trees...

Foundation.  Recipes are the foundation of food delivery that brings life and synchronicity to a menu that can foster health and joy simultaneously.

Sustainability.  Providing recipes to upcycle food and minimize food waste as well as plant-based recipes with a lower carbon footprint.

Connection.  Supporting customers with comforting and culturally familiar recipes that provide pleasure.

Longevity.  Just as the history and longevity of a tree is revered in nature, RecipeTree respects the history and longevity of individuals with pleasurable nourishment.

Seasonality.  Recipes that embrace the season and region for spot-on flavor and familiarity while also being fiscally smart.

Ever Growing.  An ever growing database driven by our customer's needs and preferences combined with the ability to grow your own recipe database as you wish.

Just as there are a variety of trees, so are the customers we serve,
each unique with our intention to help them flourish.
