Frequently Asked Questions
You offer more than one plan. How do I know which one is best for my needs?
Two plans are currently available. All plans include access to the recipe and menu platform, a central place to store all your recipes, the ability to copy and customize standardized RecipeTree recipes and access to a subscriber portal with exclusive resource content. The Sprout plan is a starter plan that delivers a monthly collection of recipes focused on culture, food and health observances, holidays, seasonality, snacks and hydration. Sprout can enhance ideas for timely dining offerings while allowing you to use existing recipe and menus systems. The Blossom plan includes the monthly collection but also gives you access to a core standardized recipe database with enough recipes to build menus. Blossom provides a cost-effective platform to store recipes and plan menus making it ideal if you don’t already have or are looking to change your current system.
I have access to thousands of recipes from my food vendor, group purchasing organization or menu software. What are the advantages of also having your recipe subscription?
These services often have vast recipe databases which may be built for healthcare. RecipeTree can be an enhancement to your existing resource which may lack recipes in some areas such as specific cultures. Additionally, RecipeTree encourages you to be the keeper of all the recipes that work for your community so that if you change services, you don’t lose access to the recipe database and customizations you have made. You can copy RecipeTree recipes and customize them however you wish. Lastly, having a large database is good but having a highly searchable database is even better. RecipeTree allows you to search for recipes using a number of unique filters. We know you have limited time and can easily get lost on the internet searching. Signing into your RecipeTree subscription and using the filters will expedite the process of finding the recipe you want.
My facility is one of 7 facilities under the same ownership. Can we all share one subscription?
Technically you can but the advantage to having your own subscription is that you can add a “favorites” tag to recipes that work well in your facility and customize the recipes to best reflect your population, such as including specific equipment and pull/prep instructions. RecipeTree has intentionally structured pricing to be affordable so that each community can have its own customizable subscription.
Why don’t I just print out the recipes that I want and cancel my subscription?
RecipeTree is continuously growing its database including embracing comments and feedback from subscribers to help drive content. Additionally, you can print the recipes for one scale but may find you want to change this scale and you can do that most easily by maintaining your subscription. Lastly, you will lose the ability to search for recipes using all of the detailed search filters.
People have expressed an interest in knowing the nutrition information per serving. Is that possible?
RecipeTree uses state of the art technology and database for sourcing ingredients and accurate nutritional information. You can enter your recipes to obtain the analysis or RecipeTree can assist you with this.
We have experienced chefs who create our recipes but lack the time, interest or experience to enter the recipes and build them for special diets or HACCPs. Can RecipeTree help with this?
RecipeTree can train you to enter your own recipes or assist you with this request.
We get requests to offer vegetarian items. Does RecipeTree have vegetarian recipes?
RecipeTree does have vegetarian recipes and allows you to filter your recipe search with this request.
The people we serve come from a lot of different cultural backgrounds that are unfamiliar to us. How does RecipeTree help us with this?
RecipeTree has recipes for 15+ different cultures and recipes can be searched by Cuisine Type. Additionally, RecipeTree recipes include suggestions for taking base recipes and adapting reserved portions to accommodate cultural cuisines.
Why would I pay for your subscription when I can get recipes for free on the internet?
While it is true that you can find free recipes, they are rarely written for healthcare and do not include references or guidelines for therapeutic diets, IDDSI or HACCP safety steps. Relocating previously used internet recipes takes time and there are no guarantees that the page, link or content still exists. Also, these recipes may not be scalable to the size of your community. RecipeTree strongly suggests you Select the recipes you want, Shape them for your needs and Preserve them in your dedicated RecipeTree subscription.
